Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Producer's Tasting Notes

    • Jameson 12 Year Old Special Reserve, with its robust full bodied flavour, is a warm welcoming handshake into the Reserves whiskey family. Originally known as '1780' after the year of foundation of the Jameson distillery in Dublin's Bow Street, it was renamed in 2002 to reflect its minimum 12 years of maturing in bourbon and most delectably in oloroso sherry casks.

With its infusion of pot still with sherry casks, these brush strokes of distilling artistry make it the best known and most popular aged Jameson Reserve for any discerning palate.

Jameson 12 Year Old Special Reserve is a whiskey of great character with complex flavours of toasted wood, spice and sherry that are superbly mellowed. Its exquisite taste celebrates the enduring heritage of great Jameson whiskeys which began in 1780.

Not a big whisky drinker but love this particular whisky. It is the only one I drink if I can help it.

I really love the taste of this whiskey. I have three bottles set aside for very special occasions. It is snowing for the first time this year (2016) and I am sipping on a small glass. I consider the first snow as a special occasion.

Nah. Not for me . Don't mind a Jameson drop when I'm out n about but got a bottle of this on a trip to Dublin. I'll stick to single malts from now on . Not a fan at all . It's smooth n buttery on the tounge and certainly ok however I wouldn't rush after another bottle. It's nice but it's not one to put away for a special occasion like some whiskeys I've tried. I'd have it again yes, but I'm in no hurry.
