A mystery Islay single malt bottled at a hefty 58% by Finlaggan's owners the Vintage Malt Whisky Co. We don't know what this is, but we have our suspicions and there's no mystery about what a bargain this is.
Palate: Young, fresh, crisp, smokey and ashy with big maritime peat explosion. Full bodied with sharp edges that mellow out with water. Finish: Medium in length. Peat, oak char, lemony notes. Young and heavily peated dram with decent character. Perfect young dram for peatheads who are constantly seeking notes alike. Quite a bargain, in fact. Good value. 87/100

Mystery Islay single malt which most people assume that it is Lagavulin. This is a hefty cask strength, un-chillfiltered dram bottled with its natural color. Nose (undiluted): Peat, cereal, barley, citrus, cookie dough. Intense. With water: Intensity diminishes and gentle side of this dram reveals itself. Cooked apples, bitter herbal notes, vanilla cream, Chardonnay, woodsmoke (Lagavulin like). Medicinal peat notes. Naphthalene.
