Posted on 23 May 2008 :

lol, I know its to be respected, i have new life goal to buy a bottle of it but the above comments cracked me up!

Posted on 28 May 2008 :

this is the kind of rum you buy not to drink but end up with it under your pillow empty. it should be drank with a small amount of ice and in a chilled glass for perfect flavour :) Posted By: Shep

Posted on 18 Jun 2008 :

i just want it. my turn to win the lottery this week so i'l tell you all what its like on monday!

Posted on 11 Jul 2008 :

A double measure is required and a rather large Cohiba or montecristo. Best enjoyed in Havana or the Cayos were the sea air brings it alive.. Posted By: Mark McB

Posted on 16 Jul 2008 :

You wouldnt mix this with anything, especially at that price. I do have a bottle of the 15 year old here at home and that is lush.. cost $80 in Cuba..

Posted on 12 Aug 2008 :

Two fingers with one ice cube,please.... no mixRespect the RUM Posted By: Goatergirl

Posted on 08 Sep 2008 :

Laugh and joke as much as you like, when you can afford to drink it its worth every sinfull penny spent. Thats why I worked so hard to be where I am...

Posted on 14 Sep 2008 :

This is the best Rum in the world. No question about it. I will surely buy a new bottle when I finish the one I have. But again as some are saying, you have to enjoy it, think I will wait about 4 months before I order one.

Posted on 13 Oct 2008 :

nice rum, overpriced i mean 6 or 7 hundred fine but its not a cognac so i do resent paying that much but spoiling it with mixers is criminal

Posted on 23 Oct 2008 :

Good with pepsi? First off it's rum and coke not Rum and pepsi, and this is NOT to be mixed with anything. Go to cuba and ask for Maximo and coke/pepsi and watch how fast a cuban slaps you in the face.As for the Rum itself the best i have ever had. Simply un-beatable.

Tasted it a few weeks ago. Great rum but certainly not worth 4-5 times as much as Havana Club's 15yr, and I still prefer Zacapa. Maximo has a promising pineapple and toaseted molasses nose but still lacks presence on the palate, especially when tasted next to a big heavy jamaican rum. Posted By: Cal

Posted on 20 Dec 2008 :

Does it come with a gold bar?

Posted on 24 Dec 2008 :

I second that, Ill slap anyone who tries to mix that thing.. Cannot taste, its forbidden in the US, so you guys describing the experiences is like blowing smoke on the face of somebody trying to quit smoking.... Posted By: Ricky

Posted on 06 Jan 2009 :

Great rum, one off the best I've had but the price is not justified, I agree with Cal, Zacapa Centenario is better. Mount Gay Extra Old also compares favorably. If you do have the opportunity to try Maximo do yourself a favor and drink it slow as the taste changes significantly the more it breathes in the glass. Posted By: Matt

I keep my bottle in the freezer to dull down the flavours as its too strong otherwise, great in front of the telly, sometimes I'll have it with coke if I'm going out - I can't believe someone suggested mixing this with Pepsi, the fluropeptides in Pepsi would make it taste of groundnut and willow instead of delicious sweet rum!Highly recommended

You all have wayyyyyy to much time on your hands. Get a life.

Posted on 11 Jun 2009 :

This is the epitome of all rums. You will never find anything better.

Posted on 13 Aug 2009 :

Sorry but just cannot compete with Mount Gay Tricentennial - absolute bliss

Posted on 01 Sep 2009 :

Had this 2 years ago at the Rum Club in Nottinghill. Fabulous and can almost still taste the rich coffee and vanilla flavours, however Ron Zapaca 23 Anos knocks it around for value. ?50 or ?1000.... I know quantity isnt everything but save your self a few quid!

Posted on 21 Sep 2009 :

it hs a woody taste first than you taste the rum afterwards, Posted By: george

WOW!!! I want a bottle!!!! Posted By: Skint And Dreaming

Posted on 29 Oct 2009 :

makes a lovely fruit cake or rum n raisin ice cream you dont even have to add much or why dont you try pouring some over your Christmas pudding seeing as its not that far away. Otherwise best enjoyed sat on the beach in Weston Super Mare. Well worth every penny!! Posted By: Cubanacan Man

I had a double shot of this in a snifter that my wife and I shared on our honey moon in Bermuda. It was the greatest beverage I have ever tasted in my life BAR NONE. It is in a league of its own. Anyone who can afford a bottle is getting something special Posted By: Connor Dowling

Posted on 24 Nov 2009 :

Is El Dorado 25 year better? Can i buy this rom in Cuba?

Posted on 16 Dec 2009 :

why would you ruin a rum like this with mixers!? or putting it in a cake for god sake!!! drink it straight and respect it!
