Havana club is great!

Overrated it seems. If you want elegant whisky-like, Bacardi 8 is better. If you want dark rum, Anejo Reserva is better. and so is Bacardi Black.

I don't always drink excellent rum... but when I do, it's Havana Club Anejo. ;)

I don't think Havana Club make a bad rum but this is one of their best and at this price just amazing. This is sipping quality rum that's smooth and interesting neat and very good mixed. It's especially good with a little coke developing rich, caramel flavours. If anyone can tell me another rum this smooth and rich for £21 I really want to know about it.

This is the BEST rum!!!! The Havana Club 7 Year Old Rum / Anejomakes the BEST Mojito EVER!!
- Marbee, 11th Aug '11
Soft flavor, refined wood, elegante smell. Some fruits are present through breath of the first sweet sip that remembres a fine liquor caramel (real ones). It passes easily, is enjoyable alone, makes good with fine bakery with no sugar or salted pics with soft flavor… that way this truly añejo rum (not common blends) is felt until the glass is empty.

Good it is, for sure, but also a bit disappointing, it lacks the aroma and complexity of a similarly aged agricole rhum, or on the other side the strong taste of a 7 years navy rum. But it is competitively priced and good value for money nevertheless.

The best rum in the world for everyday (and special occasion !) sipping and mixing. You have to move to more aged rums, single barrels or limited productions to get better.

Anyone going to an all inclusive in Cuba talk to the barman tell him you'll be taking a bottle back with you he might give you a better price. Don't be fooled by the anejo reserva (brown label not black)it's not 7yo and watch out for HC Mximo at the airport (£1500)

Whenever I'm out of the country I take advantage and only drink Havanna club! I've found it in Spain, Germany, Switzerland,UK,Mexico,Amstedam, and Sweden!!! You will never have a better Cuba Libre while out of the Ctry!!! Take advantage you won't find this Rum in the states!!!

Had this in Mexico. Now I'm hooked. Great Rum, try it, you won't be sorry.

The havana club 7 is a really good sipper. Flor de cana 7 is not bad too. Bacardi is ... cheap. The Havana club 7 is also very good in a Cuba libre, but i usually keep my Anejo reserva HC for that.

Lol at the person who chooses Bacardi over this. The 7 year Reserve is superior to the regular 7 year, but both dominate Bacard hands downi.

First thing I do when I get out of the U.S. is look for my beloved Havana Club!
- Great One, 8th Feb '10
I compared it today with Bacardi 8 years and Zacapa. Havana Club 7 stands back to the other two. There is a bitter, almost syntethic note in it that affects the overall picture. While you can drink Bacardi 8 and Zacapa straight, Havana Club 7 is probably better in long drinks.

best rum i have ever sipped
