I just tried it at Harvey Nichols in London and I must say it is exquisite but I tasted a more vanilla finish than orange but I am French that may explain it !!!Really a superb rum that I will recommend and acquire for myself as well Posted By: Bernard Bador

This is one of my current favourites (and was in fact the rum that first got me into premium aged rums). So many flavours and smells, and it has a nice kick to it. One thing I would say is drink this without any additions (no ice!!) as it tends to kill some of the taste. I tried it on the rocks once but never again! Posted By: Alistair Smith

I don't think it can even be compared to Matusalem... This is a top rum in the british style, full of juicy oranges (Demerara), probably the smoothest spirit out there. Simply leaves you stunned. Posted By: Tristan

just craked open one of these didnt expect much damn! its rather smoooth but dont open it when theres 2 many people about it doesnt arf evaporate quick.

A bit over packaged but the rum in side the bottle is superb....orange and vanilla flavors are very much there - not overpowering but very clearly defined. First class.....highly recommended. Posted By: Moles Friend

Orange and grapefruit marmalade aromas; medium-bodied with tangy flavors of citrus peel and dark honey. Finishes with spice and dried orange peel notes.

Production of Pyrat rums adheres to very unique and traditional ageing and blending specifications, resulting in an elegant and distinctive ultra-premium spirit. Pyrat rums are a precise blend of nine carefully selected Caribbean barrel aged “pot still” rums. (“Pot stills” produce a distinctively rich, flavorful rum, whereas other “column still” rums tend to produce a very neutral alcohol product.) Some of the rums used to blend Pyrat are over 40 years old, which when further aged in Pyrat’s individually selected imported oak barrels, produce flavor complexities not found in most other rums. Pyrat rums are aged in a combination of French Limousin oak barrels and specially toasted American sweet oak barrels.
