Very much enjoyed my glass, exquisitely long luxurious finish. medium bodied. very very nice. every bit as nice as the 18y actually, which unfortunately is much better value, i say unfortunate, as they are both fantastic, and very $$$y.

The Blue Label is so far the best blended whiskey I've enjoyed drinking for the last 30 years. The Blue Label taste better than the Ballatine's 30 year old Blended Whiskey, even if the latter is more expensive. All time best...Blue Label. Posted By: Ernie Bulldozer

A rich bouquet of flowers and fruit. The nose is very full and excellent. It's the taste that lets it down. Nothing of the complexity of the nose manifests itself on the palate. The whisky just seems to die when you drink it. For me it was a great disappointment. Posted By: E. William Hoenselaar

Very good, but I'd weigh up the price over the gold. Interesting drinking technique from the .au importer : Take a sip of cool water, then a sip of blue and let the two combine in your mouth. It suppresses some flavours while heightening others. Quite interesting :) Posted By: sh0ck-wave

Bought for my dad who normally drinks single malts - he adored it said it was best blend he had tasted. Worth the price for the enjoyment it gave.

I was lucky enough to have been given a bottle for Xmas 2 years ago. A fantastic drinking experience is the only way I can describe it. What a fantastic present - more enjoyable than a Wii. Posted By: Baldy090471

Having enjoyed (really enjoyed!!) many litres of Blue Label, I have found that chilling the special Jonnie Walker glasses and chilling the bottle in the freezer (this may be sacreledge to some) I and my friends have an experience that is not to be bettered by any other expensive whiskeys. I take a little sip and am surprised by how weighty this scotch is in the mouth. A medium to full body that rolls on the tongue while it is being savored. The initial flavor is very soft peat. I am surprised how much peat the flavor profile delivers. Smooth, rich, corona cigar smoke, a spice box with ginger follows against a malty background. Posted By: Jason's Scotch Whisky Reviews

Sat on a bottle of this for eight years after picking one up Duty Free, so there was a big build up when I finally cracked it NYE. Found the nose quite subtle and not at all robust. Very much back of tongue in the mouth, smooth, sweet and you can certainly taste the old malt flavours. However would have to say that a quality single malt from islay is nicer and far more interesting for half the price. Posted By: Drums

Tasting Notes:

Tasting Notes by TF

Nose:  Smooth, silky cereal, syrupy flapjacks, polished oak. Dessicated coconut, then other nutty notes: unsalted peanut, brazil nut.

Palate: A silky caress. Unexpectedly strong spicy entry, but always honeyed and rounded by some toasty oak.  The honeyed malt is beautifully interwoven around the venerable grain, which must be absolutely ancient.

Finish:  A perfectly-integrated slow fade of the palate.  Mouthwatering grain, and the honey and spices fade slowly.  Extremely long but still very gentle.

Comment:  The daddy of premium blends divides fans as to whether or not it merits its price tag, but there is definitely something esoteric about the basically flawless balance on display here. Smoother than a hot-buttered, freshly-shaven diplomat in velvet trousers.
