This is almost too smooth. Drink it neat. Massive aftertaste. Is it worth it? I don't know, but it's very very drinkable. Posted By: Gearóid

I bought my first bottle as an investment but couldn't resist trying it. I was then hooked. I'm now on my fifth bottle and I still can't keep one for very long. Posted By: Dennis

Truly stellar. You will not be disappointed. If price is an issue, then go with Redbreast 12 as it is remarkably similar and even smoother at less than half the cost of Midleton.

This is the smoothest Irish whisky I've ever tasted. I easily recommend it to anyone who cares for fine whisky. Posted By: Dave

I have a bottle of 1994 which I won by predicting the first three home in the 1994 Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham. Would this still be okay for drinking? Also what would its value be now? Posted By: Steve

Probably my favourite of the Irish Distillers range, a consistently excellent drink that is not, NOT, to be mixed with anything except fresh air and good company! Undoubtedly it has very few rivals and if you consider yourself a credible whiskey drinker then you must treat yourself - if only for the purposes of education! Enjoy, John. Posted By: John

Have a bottle for every year since 1996, saving till I retire. One of the best Irish whiskeys I've ever tasted, if only the wife would let me buy a couple at a time, (One to keep, one to drink) Posted By: Chris Burton

i wonder how much could i get for a bottle from 1985?is it still o.k?

Posted on 11 Mar 2010 :

To above poster, the 1985 should still be better than ok. Please read our previous post for details on how to get a valuation. Posted By: TWE Admin

I bought a bottle in 2003 in Moscow airport duty-free with my last $80 and waved goodbye to Elena and Russia forever. I drank it after selling my house and then losing everything in Las Vegas in 2005 and things didn't seem too bad. I'm back in Russia and thinking it must be time for a second bottle - I'm not superstitious Posted By: josark

Been collecting since 1994, one for every year since, if only the wife would let me buy two bottles, one to drink and one to keep.Chris B Posted By: Chris B. Langley Berks

If you're new to whiskey or even whisky, midleton is the Aston Martin.......!!!!! In other words many cost more but are not smooth and distinctive in taste and look.... Don't buy and not drink. A true whiskey to be enjoyed neat..... Enjoy! Posted By: Stuart H

Brand Info:
Midleton

The new Midleton is an enormous modern distillery in County Cork built by Irish Distillers in 1975 to streamline the production of its many brands. This brought an end to nearly 200 years of Jameson production in Dublin, but the Old Jameson Distillery in Bow Street is now a visitor's centre. Tourists can also visit the Midleton complex, which is home to many other brands beside Jameson, including Green Spot, Paddy, Power's, Redbreast and Tullamore Dew.

The Midleton distillery's flagship brand is Midleton Very Rare, which is a small batch blend released annually.

‘This has eclipsed and redefined the perception of Irish Whiskey..Astonishing.’ Peter Mulryan, Whiskey Critic
