Excellent. A lot reminiscent of the Dalmore 12 year old. Tried this and Johnnie Walker Green Label at the same time. Preferred this to the Green by far. Toffee, tobacco, caramel, medium thickness, no discernible tongue burn.

Actually, there are some variations with different batches. Nowadays it's impossible to get 100 % sulfur free sherry casks in large scale. Nevertheless, an excellent or even superb blend, when you get the right batch. Sadly, they probably can't keep this level of excelence for very long :(

I have to say this is a very, very agreeable blended. The regular humdrum "Special" that's on offer permanently has it's (limited) charms but always gives me a headache, so I refuse to buy it any further. This, on the other hand, has none of the vices of it's cheap cousin and is a league beyond on every level. This is a joy to drink - an unpretentious, high quality whisky for the sheer pleasure of it. Not one to linger over or over-analyse, it's simply delicious and sublimely balanced. Can give a fair degree of alcohol burn but depends how your palate is sitting at the time. Think of a whisky that the nose of the so-called "Special" should deliver be and this is it. Toffee, tea, brown sugar.....really very good indeed. For me, it sits where Chivas would purport to sit.

One of the best blends ever. Sherry sweet, but still balanced and some real complexity here. I can swear that this blend even develops when you leave it to sit 15 min. I have no idea how they can sell this superlative blend at this price and still keep out sulphured sherry casks. I have no idea.
