SMWS 114.1 / 9 Year Old / Millennium Malt

Celebrate The Millennium with our first ever bottling from distillery 114, Springbank's rare 'Number Two' malt. Made from their own heavily peated malt, this bottling is doubly unusual as we re-racked the whisky into a fresh port cask in 1995. A gorgeous colour with dancing red lights. The nose is both sweet and tarry, clean and rich; cooked fruits and medicine with a whiff of the sea. The taste is of sweet carbolic and oranges and very smoky. The combination of sweetness and smoke works perfectly - we have never tasted anything quite like this before. The Millennium Malt comes with tasting notes, a neck tag carved from a stave of the original cask and is presented in a beautiful handmade and engraved cherrywood box.
