Tasting Notes by Tim F

Nose:  Rich and full, with golden syrup, Demerara and a hint of treacle.  Some caramelised cooked fruit aromas.  Reassuringly weighty oak in the background - polished mahogany notes.  Hint of cinnamon, over-ripe oranges or orange liqueur and bitter dark chocolate.

Palate:  Rich, without being sickly.  Amazingly smooth, gentle texture - like being stroked with a silk glove.  Chocolate velvetiness on the palate, with the creamy oak spices emerging again (as with the Anejo) alongside some citrus notes to counteract the syrupy sweetness.

Finish: A sweet cocoa caress, with shimmering spices.

Comment:  Extremely classy stuff, with each element of flavour crystal clear and yet perfectly integrated.

Nose of raisins, molasses, vanilla, caramel and banana; flavors of vanilla and caramel with orange and almond; very balanced, smooth and clean, lingering finish.

I wouldn't really consider this THE BEST rum for the price, but its up there. I'd say its comparable to Zaya considering taste price and age. If you're looking for high end complexity, I'd recommend looking a lil higher. Otherwise, this is classy stuff and worthy of purchase if you're looking for a mid range smooth sipper for drinking neat or on the rocks. Great for mixing, but not with coke or anything that's already sweet as it can be a bit overwhelming

I also am learning about good rum,was recommended this and was blown away by how good it was....too good! No ice no nothing just pure silk. Awesome rum.

Deliciously unctuous and indulgent. It's like the perfect balance of all good puddings rolled into one. Don't let anything else near it; even a glass is pushing it a bit. Best not shared.

An exelent rum always thought british was best not any more. will buy more of this and now try other south american rums. very smooth and plummy love it.
