Nose: First impression of brown sugar, plus cocoa powder, sweet milky coffee and oaky spice - faint hint of clove as it develops. Raisins, caramel and vanilla, quite creamy without being heavy or overpowering.
Palate: Medium-full. Develops exactly as the nose would suggest, with chocolatey raisin fudge, sweet milky coffee again and the oaky spices emerging to tingle at the edges of the tongue, preventing the whole from becoming cloying.
Finish: Decent length. Chocolate and spices. Becomes quite peppery.
Comment: Eminently drinkable. A cut above anything else I've tried at this price point. Well-made spirit, extremely well-balanced.
