Nose: Orange, citrus and cereals - like a breakfast table!
Palate: Replicates the nose, with marmalade notes.
Finish: Long, with a late and dry smokeyness.
Nose: Very pleasant apple blossom & honey initially, develops sweet orange citrus notes, danish pastry, maramalade, tinned pears and more floral notes. Develops to apple pie. The kind of nose you want to cut a slice of and take around with you.
Palate: Oaky spice on the entry, then lemon curd and green apples. Quite dominant oak and less sweet than the nose would suggest.
Finish: Drying oak spices and apple, with a delicate astringency.
Comment: The palate can't quite live up to the sublime nose, but still a lovely whisky from this somewhat obscure distillery. Possibly bottled just a tad late.
