If you've only ever experienced Captain Morgan's or Bacardi this would serve as an excellent 'gateway' to the world of vintage rums. The nose is a wonderment of toffee, caramelised bananas and molasses, and what follows is a joyfully spicy punch. Not as refined as more upmarket rums, but still a damn fine bottle of "pirate juice" for the money!
