Bottler's Tasting Notes
Colour: Luminous Gold
Body: Mellow, mature, majestic. The spirit is simply stunning, fill of character and elegance.
Nose: The coastal aromas are very evident. A hint of brine, sea salt on oilskins – fisherman’s sweaters, peat smoke and bracken. Then given a little time it all changes, like the Kirkwall climate. Now its lavender and bluebells with a sprinkling of sherbet. Dive deeper and your reward is tablet and a citrus marzipan. Finally it’s the lightly charred oak note that closes the show. Aromatically outstanding.
Palate: The peat fire hits the back of the throat with a smoky dryness, then the citrus soft fruits wash in behind, giving an amazing sweet/dry flavour to the taste buds. The oak is really generous in proportion, but an impressive harmony with both fruit and flame. An Island beauty. Totally captivating.
Finish: Fades beautifully, leaving you with the tang of the sea.
