This new Auchentoshan 12 yrs expression is replacing the old 10 year-old in this market, and arrives as the range gets a funky new look. Some may say that the new bottle looks a lot like the new Highland Park presentation, but we reckon they've done a better job than HP. But it does look a bit like a bottle of Teacher's.

Auchentoshan Distillery

Founded by Irish refugees in 1825 on the outskirts of Glasgow, Auchentoshan is one of the last active distilleries in the Lowlands. In common with other Lowland (and Irish) whiskies, Auchentoshan malt whisky is distilled three times (as opposed to most Scottish malt whisky, which is distilled twice). Tasting Notes:

Producer's Tasting Notes

The 12 year old is smooth, fresh and nutty with a golden honey appearance.

It has a Crème Brulee smell with a burst of citrus and the signature nuttiness and green leafiness of Auchentoshan.

To taste the palate is smooth and sweet with hints of tangerine and lime. To finish, it is a gingery and slightly drying with a pleasant lingering nuttiness.
