SMWS Tasting Notes
A stalwart to our lists at younger ages, we've never bottled any casks of this age, and what a cracker we've found! A beautiful orange-gold hue, this whisky has been sitting for some time withits hogshead-host. The first nose is orangey, syrupy orange bitters and orange lollies. There may be some bananas and tinned fruit salad, with orange as the dominant feature. The tasteis of charred wood with something a little exotic at the finish, sandalwood perhaps. Diluted the bouquet remains fruity, with bananas, orange, plenty of oak and a slight creaminess. On thepalate there is an impressive velvety smoothness, with enough burnt wood at the end to let you know that it's old. This is an exceptionally fine whisky, with great balance and integration.Improve your life and buy it!
