Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes by TF
Nose
Toffee and digestive biscuits (but fear not, there's no caramel in these bottlings! Here at TWE we prefer all-natural drams). Some white pepper, dried-out lawns, nutmeg, butterscotch and honeycomb frolic on an earthy bedrock.
Palate
Medium-full. Spicy (cinnamon, chilli powder), woody, fruity (lemon, tangerine) and grassy, with shortbread and toast. The citrussy notes merge well with the spices mid-palate.
Finish
Warming and persistent, becoming slightly dry. Dry earth, lemon juice and tingling spices.
Comment
A well-balanced dram with plenty of character. A bit rougher round the edges than distillery bottlings, perhaps due to lack of caramel - and all the better for it.

Customer Reviews
ttthis seems to be a very sensitive malt, if the temperature is not exactly right it does not give you all of it's flavour. It's a very nice and honest whisky, some lovely barley, a hint of butterscotch and some citrus.
