Product Description
English Harbour is a top-quality molasses-based rum distilled by the Antigua Distillery and named after a town on the island briefly inhabited by our own Horatio Nelson during the 18th century. This rum has been matured in ex-bourbon barrels for at least 10 years and rich aromas of demerara sugar, thick molasses, smoke, fudge and dried fruit fill the nose, complemented by notes of tropical fruits, toffee apples, cigar box, honey and freshly-brewed espresso coffee throughout the palate.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Distributor's Tasting Notes
Slightly heavier in flavour and taste than the Five year old. Initially soft and closed.
The smoky oak flavours are well balanced with citrus, dried fruits, vanilla and burnt
sugar notes.
Coconut, cinnamon and tropical florals on the aroma prepare you for butterscotch in the initial taste followed by a touch of thick coffee and baked apple in the viscous mouth feel.
Smoky cedar in the body lasts through the the finish and opens beautifully revealing hints of spice –cardamom, menthol, rosemary, caramel and ripe blackberries.

I'm a great fan of the English Harbour range of rums, especially the 10 year old, as it has the classic taste and mouthfeel, (plenty of substance/oomph), of a top shelf molasses based rum, and I'm fortunate to have tried most of best rums money can buy, including the English Harbour classic, EH 1981...now that's a rum, if money is not an issue. The 10 year old has that rich taste of creme brulee, toffee, and a lovely slight smokeness to it, which is very appealing. Some people might baulk at this considering the price, but for me, using the 10 year old EH as the rum, makes a very special Dark & Stormy....half the juice of a freshly squeezed lime, plenty of ice, good shot of the 10 year old, shake it all in a cocktail shaker, pour into a long glass with more ice, and top up with a quality ginger beer that is not overly sweet...transports you straight to the Caribbean. QPR wise, best value rum for mine....only one problem with positive reviews, becomes too popular and unobtainable...has happened in Australia.
As smooth as expected. Love it!
absolutely a top-shelf rum with true flavours, complexity and an underlying sweetness, but by far not as overpowered as with the zacapa 23 and others.has to be named alongside the best ones in the world (for under a 100 bucks)Highly recommended!
