david: There shouldn't be any problem with the sediment - as Murray McDavid only lightly filter their whisky there are sometimes little bits of wood and sediment from the cask in the bottle.

pls help me as im a bit afraid to open this bottle as there is a slight sedimement ive never seen this before in whiskey does anyone know what this is

Macallan being one of my favorites among many, I purchased the 1990 Murray McDavid. Excellent single malt. Aromatic as if subtle honey and sherry married. Taste of hide with nuts in front. Smooth finish. Great after dinner scotch.
