GeeBee complains too much. This is an excellent bottle.

I ordered this whisky for our December whisky club meeting after reading the online reviews, and what a disappointment. Whilst the flavour on the palette was actually quite pleasant, swallowing was another matter. The whisky is raw and burns all the way to the stomach, much like a cheap Russian vodka.

In a good way or bad? I've heard that Edradour can vary greatly in quality. I'm interested in trying this as (1) I feel one should support Scotland's smallest distillery, and (2) I like the idea of an Edradour aged in port. I have a bottle of the Edradour 10 and found it flawed (slightly rubbery, artificial smell), but with a rewarding creamy aftertaste. So worth revisiting. I had hoped that port might smooth out those problems.
