N: Very clean, with plenty of fresh fruit: green apples, plenty of citrus (lemon, grapefruit) and very mild peach aromas. There's faint hints of older notes later eg toast, resin, spice, church pew - but really it's all about the fruit here.
P: Medium-weight. Dominated by delicious sliced green apple flavours, with delicate honeysuckle providing a balancing sweetness. Citrus tingles in the background, darting forward from time to time to liven things up. Clearly very well-made spirit, with a precisely defined structure allowing all aspects of the palate to shine.
F: Longer and livelier than expected. Tingling fresh acidity keeps it going, with the fruit and sweetness in very good balance.
C: Officially, there's no such thing as a 'session' cognac - but if there were, this would be it. Only good manners prevent me from quaffing it.
