This marvellous aged Paraguayan rum has got a very shiny halo - not only is it organic, but it's also Fairtrade! Its carbon footprint's probably not great, but that kind of goes with the territory for rum.

This rum has a very honeyed nose and taste, a little like La Favorite from Martinique, but this is a better rum than that as it does not have a nasty aftertaste. I would score it 7/10. However it could do with a couple of years aging in oak casks. Hopefully some more organic Fairtrade rums will arrive before too long, but this is not bad for a pioneer.
