Am sipping it right now and it takes time to get used to. It is different than French and American Brandy. At first, the color, the smell and the taste remind you of a sweet wine but you get fooled at the finish with a long dry aftertaste. I do not know how to describe it yet because it is totally different but worth it. the nose is extraordinary and the taste is full and mouth filling.

Dave: We're based in London, so I would suspect that we count as UK stockist :)

I agree with above comments, my favourite too. but is difficult to find in the UK. Does anyone know of a stockist ?

Sue: it shouldn't change too much in the bottle as it's high in alcohol. It shouldn't have got worse in the bottle though.

Does anyone know if this brandy ages well with time? I hav a bottle I received as a gift about 20 years ago. It is still in the cork box it came in.

As with others, I have found that this brandy is very tasteful and inviting. My wife gave it to me as a gift, but I think she had a personal intention behind this action. I recommend it!

I have been drinking this wonderful brandy for years and it is the only one that I enjoy in any season. Cardenal Mendoza "Life is Good".

A wonderful wonderful drink. I first experienced this in a very classy hotel in Tuscany and since then have strived to find something more palatable and have as of yet not managed to. (although I did have a Portuguese brandy that was close but it's name eludes me)The Solera process used to make this beautiful drink is very noticable and definately a highlight. In summary wonderful taste, wonderful presentation and wonderfully different.

Cardenal Mendoza Solera Gran Reserva is velvety smooth, deliciously rich and intoxicating in the best way possible. It's got to be one of the most pleasurable drinking experiences I've ever had. Trust me, it's a pleasure giver, people!

I discovered this brandy in Tenerife - recommended by a maitre d'. It is so different from all other brandies in its darkness of flavour. There is a redolance and sweetness of raisin. A very warm baloon makes an immense difference to the drinking experience, releasing the perfumes and adding to the depth of flavour. I am a confirmed Hine man but, as a delightful change a "Drop of the Cardinal" is hard to beat.
