This a must have in your whisky collection, it is a nobledrink. Has class finesse and is smooth...the epitomyof an excellent single malt. There are precious few that can deliver below this price range in the heirarchy of single malts

Absolutely my favourite single malt yet. Very strong sherry taste, lovely sweet background to it. So far i have been changing brand after every bottle to get a taste of the different malts available, but this is one where the bottle is definitely being bought again. Cant recommend enough. One of my first Whiskies, lovely drink, a sweet, moreish nuttyness on the front of the pallet, changing into intense spice at the back, with a warming, smooth and long finish.

Tasting Notes by TF

Sweet fruits, oloroso sherry and vanilla on the nose.

The palate is smooth, rich and mellow, with a nutty sweetness and hints of spices along with the sherry notes.

The finish is long and warming.

At the 2006 International Spirits Challenge, The Balvenie was awarded gold medals for its Founder’s Reserve 10 Year Old, DoubleWood 12 Year Old, Balvenie New Wood 17 Year Old, PortWood 21 Year Old, Balvenie Thirty and Balvenie Portwood 1991. This is the biggest gold medal haul for any brand in any one year since the competition began. William Grant founded Balvenie whisky in 1889. William Grant was born on 19 December 1839 in his father's house in Dufftown.
