Just a couple of things for you this week
4 New Products
Just a couple of things for you this week - but real quality, as you've no doubt come to expect. In addition to the two latest tomes from Charles Maclean, we have two very special bottlings. The first is our own Hakushu 1989 bottled from a single sherry cask at the eye-watering natural cask strength of 62%, and this is the first in a series of special TWE 10th Anniversary bottlings! We've got some really stunning malts from some of our favourite distilleries coming up between now and Christmas, so if you haven't yet subscribed to our New Products RSS feed (it's the big orange button at the top of the page), now's a good time to do it. The other special bottling this week is a serendipitous marriage from our old friend John Glaser at Compass Box. Lady Luck is an inspired combination of Caol Ila and Imperial, and when we tasted it we absoutely loved it. Once again, hats off to JG and the Compass Box team.

A mega-bumper week happening here, with the return of an old favourite from John Glaser (Spice Tree, now released from the bonds of pen-pushing halfwits at the Scotch Whisky Association) and annual staples from Ingvar Ronde and Jim Murray - essential reading. We've also got a slew of exciting new releases, with some great stuff at the top end, including the final instalment of the new 1964 Bowmore Trilogy and the award-winning Yamazaki 1984. For us mere mortals, there's the return of Glen Garioch with a couple of highly-rated vintage releases, a couple of typically-stylish Bruichladdichs, the latest in Douglas Laing's Anniversary series and a very tasty Balvenie plus a few other little gems like Auchentoshan, Tamdhu and Glen Spey. In other news, we're running a free ticket prize draw for The Whisky Show 2009! Entering the competition is very easy and you could win a pair of tickets for the event on Friday 6th November.
