A 35 year old from silent Imperial, a distillery that has been closed more than it's been open since its 1897 founding. This was distilled back in 1976 and was matured in a refill butt before being bottles in late 2011.
A 1976 vintage whisky distilled at Glenburgie - the alternative name was used for spirit distilled with their Lomond stills, removed in 1981 effectively 'closing' Glencraig. This matured for 35 years in a bourbon barrel before bottling in late 2011.
A rare release of whisky from now closed distillery Inverleven by Signatory for their Cask Strength Collection. Inverleven was made almost entirely for use in the Ballantine's blends and had no official bottlings. Since its closure in 1991 there have been a few independent releases, including this one.
A 1976 vintage Bunnahabhain selected by Jim McEwan as part of the Celtic Heartlands range. Matured for most of its 33 years in fino sherry casks, this was then finished, or as Jim likes to say 'enhanced', in Chateau D'Yquem casks. This should be interesting.
A very unusual bottling of Glen Elgin, with a slight (all-natural) green tint. This is a deliciously retro dram, with apples and silky malt on an oak backdrop of the very highest quality.
A rare bottling from North Port/Brechin, which was closed in the early 1980s and finally demolished in 1994 to make way for a supermarket. Distilled in 1976 and bottled 24 years later for the First Cask range.
A deeply coloured 24 year old whisky from Glen Grant, that has to have come from a sherry cask. Distilled in 1976 and bottled at the turn of the millenium for the First Cask range.
A rare independent bottling of a single cask of 20yo Glen Grant 1976 bottled in the mid 1990s by Direct Wines for their First Cask series (not to be confused with the more recent Dutch bottlings under the same name).
