Although few people seem to care much about Benrinnes, this is a distillery capable of great things, as 2009's terrific Special Releases 1985 23yo bottling proved. This is a very affordable bottling of the 1993 vintage from the ever-reliable Gordon & Macphail.
Auchroisk (pronounced Athrusk) is a relatively modern distillery, having begun production in 1974. Most of the production was destined for the J & B blend, however some malt was bottled as 'The Singleton' due to the perceived difficulty with pronouncing the name.
