1993 Vintage Whisky

Auchroisk (pronounced Athrusk) is a relatively modern distillery, having begun production in 1974. Most of the production was destined for the J & B blend, however some malt was bottled as 'The Singleton' due to the perceived difficulty with pronouncing the name.

Gordon & Macphail have taken this a 1993 vintage Ledaig and placed it in barrels which previously held St Joseph Red Wine for a period of 40 months. The mildly peaty Ledaig has taken on some of the lighter fruity characteristics of the St Joseph, making something quite special.

A 1993 vintage whisky from the (as of 2011) mothballed Glen Keith distillery, bottled by Douglas Lain in their Old Malt Cask Range at 18 years old. The distillery closed down in 2000, but there are hopes that it will start up again soon.

The 2013 release in Glenmorangie's annual Private Edition series of small batch wood experiments, Ealanta differs from its predecessors Sonnalta, Finealta and Artein as it has been full-term matured (rather than finished) in its designer casks, which in this instance are heavily toasted new white oak casks made with trees from Missouri's Ozark mountains. 'Ealanta' means "skilled and ingenious" according to the press release. 1 bottle per person
