A 1996 vintage whisky from quiet but respected highland distillery Teaninich, usually found at the heart of the Johnnie Walker whiskies. This was bottled by Gordon Macphail as part of their Connoisseurs Choice range.
A Connoisseurs Choice bottling of Glen Elgin, one of the key malts in the White Horse blend. Brilliantly, this has been bottled at 46% - previously unusual for Gordon & Macphail's CC range, but hopefully a marker of things to come.
An early Arran, distilled the year after the distillery was built, this is showing remarkable maturity for a malt of such tender years. Fruity and biscuity in equal measures, this is a hugely enjoyable dram.
A 1996 vintage whisky from Bowmore, selected by Bruichladdich/Murray McDavid master distiller Jim McEwan who worked at Bowmore for a few decades before moving down the road. This was finished in Chateau Petrus wine casks.

A powerful cask-strength Arran from a single hogshead filled in 1996, just a year after the distillery was established. A drop of water will bring the best out of this sweet-smelling, peppery dram.
Another Laphroaig for our Single Malts of Scotland range, this 1996 is from a single hogshead. Peppery on the nose with a hint of cured ham, before a surprisingly sweet, fruity palate.
