Chase Limited Edition Vodka

Our friends at the delightful Williams Chase distillery in Herefordshire have never been the types to rest on their laurels. Not content with simply basking in the glory of England's (perhaps the world's?) finest potato vodka (the eponymous Chase, which recently came 1st out of 115 vodkas at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition), nor even with their delicious home-made liqueurs; nor even with the special vodka and gin distilled from their own organic apples.

No, the tireless do-gooders at Williams Chase always have something else up their sleeve, and this page is where you'll find the latest releases from a distillery where the imaginations are almost as fertile as the soils in their organic orchards.

First up, there's the extremely limited Chase English Oak Smoked Vodka. This little beauty emerged at the end of 2009 and we have to say that we've never tasted anything like it on the vodka market before. The idea for this vodka came to one of the distillery crew at a local food fair while tasting some particularly fine smoked salmon, and the vodka has been produced in much the same way, with a natural infusion of smoke permeating the spirit over a period of around a week inside a specially made smoke chamber.

Smoked Chase Limited Edition Vodka

The second release in Chase's Limited Edition series is the Seville Orange Marmalade Vodka, only 1000 bottles of which have been released. With a natural pale orange colour from the infusion, and a tangy, slightly bitter orange palate, this is perfect with ice and tonic or in fresh summer fruity cocktails.

The results, as always with Chase, are particularly delicious and confirm that this is a distillery to watch in 2010 - especially as more limited edition Chase vodkas are scheduled for release in the near future. Sadly, due to the very small batches produced of these special editions, we don't know how long our supplies will last.
