Producer's Tasting Notes

Many years of dedication and patience by the distillery craftsmen has resulted in a single malt which is rich copper gold in colour with the gentle aromas of warm, sweet honey, barley sugar and fresh lemon zest, beautifully complemented by cool hints of eucalyptus.

On the palate creme caramel combines wonderfully with dry, subtle notes of oak.

The finish is exquisite; long, lingering and perfectly balanced.

A single Oloroso sherry cask of Auchentoshan 1957, bottled at a full fifty years old. Just 171 bottles of this were yielded from the cask after five decades of ageing.

The clear, pure new spirit was carefully filled into Oloroso sherry cask number 479. The cask was then left to quietly mature in the distillery warehouse.

For some fifty years the distillery managers have carefully monitored Mother Nature at work. The precious liquid has slowly been infused with subtle, complex sherry notes and rich copper gold colour from the Spanish Oloroso cask. The final result is enchanting, wonderfully intense aromas on the nose and delicious rich flavours in the mouth.
