Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes by Francis Audemard

Nose:  Very good first impression, very lively, surprising for a cognac so old

1. Notes of dried roses and poppies
2. Fruity notes of coconut, passionflower, quince
3. Woody notes of sandalwood & cedar
4. Finally, in the empty glass, balsamic and nutmeg

Palate: Cognac that remains full of vigor, a great deal of ‘fattiness’ (physical sensation of a thick liquid on the palette coming from concentration through evaporation over the years) and mellowness.  Exceptional length; Magnificent elegance; Very distinct.

Note: Francis Audemard is an official independent tasting expert to the French courts of law.

A precious jewel, a rare treasure, the Paradis ageing cellar at Cognac Croizet never fails to enchant the senses.

Croizet Distillery

This exceptional collection of unique eaux-de-vie began with the wedding dowry of Léonie Croizet, great granddaughter of Léon Croizet, in 1892. Carefully preserved by the Croizet family, this unique room houses pre-phylloxera eaux-de-vie dating back to 1858.

A century and a half has passed since the vines yielded the precious grapes that have made this exclusive cognac. Each bottle of Cuvée Léonie by Cognac Croizet represents a time which no longer exists. Every glass opens up the senses to a unique array of aromas and tastes that can never be recreated.
