		Frapin Cuvée 1888 honours company founder Piere Frapin, who in 1888 selected the cuvee that won a Gold Medal at the World Fair in Paris. Some of the cognacs used in the assemblage pre-date 1888, and a high proportion of the little-seen Folle Blanche grape is used. Presented in a crystal decanter with a spiral of gold thread and a 24-carat gold stopper, plus a gilded fob watch containing a block of Pierre Frapin perfume.

Its highly complex aromas show notes of dried fruit, walnuts and hazelnuts, raisins and prune with candied orange and enchanting balsamic, roasted, toasty notes of cocoa and tonka beans and coffee.

The heart is a sublime harmony of vine flowers with a splash of everlasting flowers mingling with the sweetness of linden on a background of pepper, sweet spice, summer flower honey and vanilla, leather and precious woods.

Cognac Frapin Cuvée 1888 is probably the rarest blend of cognac to be launched in many years. It is selected from the most precious stock from some of the finest Grande Champagne Premier Grand Cru vineyards in Cognac. The Cuvée shows amazing character. Powerful yet subtle, it combines history with blending expertise resulting in a tribute to Cognac’s Grande Champagne Premier Grand Cru vineyards.

Cuvée 1888 is a blend of very old Grande Champagne cognacs distilled on their lees and kept in the tranquil dark cellars of the Château de Fontpinot, and has superb floral notes of the Folle Blanche grape, which is now rarely used for making cognac. The decanter is designed in the shape of a spinning top, with a 24-carat gold thread winding around it to symbolise the passing of time and the roundness of the cognac within, and a 24-carat gold stopper. A drawer in the luxurious gift box contains a gilded fob watch. When the lid is opened, the watch reveals a solid perfume concentrate of the Pierre Frapin fragrance to create the ideal scent environment in which to savour this unique cognac.
