The latest vintage of Macallan 18yo is from 1991. A benchmark: not just for Macallan, but for aged whisky everywhere. Sets the standard for sherried Speysides to aspire to. 'Best Malt in the World': The Macallan 18 years old, Whisky Magazine, June 2004

Absolutely superb! My first real single malt ever was an 18Y Macallan 1982. It's still at the top of my list, tied in with Glenfarclas 30Y.

I still prefer the 1984 18yr, the 1991 was a little flat but I had no problems finishing a bottle of this with a good friend last night. Expected more though, can't wait for the next vintage.

this is a slight disapointment. I expected more

This drink is smooth, after drinking 18yr glenlevit for a few days, that sweet tast at the end is Marvolous. umm I want a bottle. i was drinking it at $30.00 a glass. maybe 2 finger.

PalateTake a little sip and hold it in your mouth for a second. You will note thick, rich sun beams of sherry, concentrated sweet berries like a big Napa cabernet sauvignon (think Caymus or Cakebread) building towards a crescendo of oak. This is a scotch of great complexity, body and above all, concentration of dark fruit flavors.

Certainly a good malt, but as a another reviewer noted, there are many malts just as good and even more interesting for less money.

Gave this one a go based on the review. Expected more from a whiskey of this price and age though.
