I am new to Scotch but I find this is nice whisky. I have had it on the rocks and neat. I prefer it neat overall.

Agree with Tom, best dram in a long time! Big fan of Islay Malts in general, and 'Rocks' is the first i've tried from this distillery. I really like the effect from the red wine casks, both in the colour and taste. One of the most exciting, interesting whiskies i've tried so far! Looking forward to more from Bruichladdich.

Actually, it was designed to be "very much as an early evening, long whisky on the rocks," aimed at the overseas market as stated by then master distiller Jim McEwan in Whisky Dream Waking A Giant. So while the branding may refer to the Geology, rocks were intended - (even if it tastes great as it) And btw - the red wine hints are due to a transfer to Syrah casks.

Very pleased with this one. I didn't have it with rocks but just a teaspoon of water. It says on the bottle it is unpeated, but it is lightly peated and all the better for it. On the nose, it is fresh and coastal, another reviewer described it in these terms and I'd say that is spot on. On tasting, I get very subtle peat and smoke, brineyness and a hint of red wine. I got this for 27 quid and I am very happy with my purchase.

Good whisky but why so many daft names from this distillery??

Fruity (red small berries, strawberries, pear), saline, smooth ... great value for your buck.

been drinking Islay whiskies for years and thought the Islay full cask was a find until I was given a bottle of the Rocks. Lovely, smooth and the various flavour hints send the taste buds into heaven.

On a Youtube video promoting this product Jim McEwan says he did name this whisky Rocks to encourage consumers to drink it with ice. It's a vatting of 5, 6, and 7 year old bourbon cask whisky finished in red wine casks for 9 months.

The Rocks in the name refers to the geology of the island. You don't put ice in it any more than you'd put Coke in it.

nice with no peaty scent

I only take my dram with a dod-ey-ice and this is the perfect accompaniment. Simply splendid.

Very nice. Recommended by a liquor store owner over more expensive alternatives. He claimed it was best bang for the buck, and as far as I can tell he was most certainly right.Very fruity - nice coastal feel.

Just replaced the last bottle,a great addition to my whisky collection,it has everthing you would expect from a Islay malt, smoke peat and it has a subtle combination of fruit flavours which adds to a wonderful finish.Excellent malt.

A very nice dram - on the palate there's a juicy grapefruit with an oily, very smooth finish.

One of the few malts which has a tinge of pink when held to the light! Having tried other more mature Laddies I was a bit unsure about buying this one. Pleasantly surprised by a young but very smooth malt. Has touches of strawberry - pear and red wine. Don't mistake this for a typical Islay whisky though!

Never tasted any of the Bruichladdich whiskies before but this is one of my favourites. Love the smooth taste and there is definitely the flavour of a windswept rocky coast here. Fantastic amber colour never seen in a whisky before.

Truly the best value for money I have ever found in the whisky world. Such a smooth yet distinctivly Islay taste with a lovely coastal freshness. 10/10

I have tried some Islay whiskies tht I did not like. The ROCKS however is fantastic. Smooth and a great feel, taste. It is the real deal. Beats my states bourbon, hands down.
