A 2002 vintage Edradour, which was aged for over 8 and a half years in a hogshead before being transferred to an ex-Chateauneuf du Pape cask for 2 and a half years. Released as part of the distillery's on-going Straight From the Cask series of bottlings which use a variety of different wine casks to finish their whiskies.
A port wood finish Edradour from the Straight from the Cask series. Distilled on 23rd January 2001 and initially matured in hogsheads until 10th December 2010, the spirit was then moved to a port pipe and matured for a further 3 years, before bottling in December 2013.
A richly coloured Edradour, finished in a red wine cask as part of its 11 years of maturation. Distilled on 28th March 2002, matured in a hogshead until 28th February 2011 and then finished in a Barolo hoggie until bottling on 9th December 2013.
Relaunched in 2011, Glenmorangie's sauternes-finished Nectar d'Or is now proudly boasting a prominent age statement that wasn't there before, proclaiming it to be 12 years old. Give it a couple of years and it'll be growing a weedy moustache on its top lip. IWSC 2012 Gold Medal Winner
The fourth limited edition bottling as part of the ongoing collaboration between Scottish designer/artist Peter Arkle and Knockdhu distillery where An Cnoc is produced. This is a combination of whiskies aged in sherry butts and bourbon barrels.
Formerly only available in travel retail this is a no-age-statement release from Old Pulteney that replaces the earlier WK209. They've called it "Isabella Fortuna" after the last drifter boat still in Wick harbour - if you stand at the top of the hill by the distillery you can almost see it.
Originally launched as part of the travel retail only 'The Lighthouse Collection' in August 2013, Noss Head is named after the eponymous lighthouse near Wick. Matured in bourbon casks, this is deliciously sweet and spicy.
The 2010 edition of the Royal Lochnagar entry in Diageo's Distillers Edition range of whiskies. This one was finished in casks that previous contained well aged muscat wine, adding a floral richness to the spirit.
A 22 year old Signatory bottled whisky from Ben Nevis distillery in the Highlands of Scotland. This has been bottled without chill-filtration after maturing in a sherry butt - distilled on July 5th 1991 and bottled on November 8th 2013.
