A very special expression of the famous Antiquary blend, this 1977 vintage was bottled to celebrate the 150th anniversary of parent company John & William Hardie Ltd.
A 1977 vintage single cask Benriach from independent bottler Adephi. A deeply coloured 34 year old, suggesting that the single cask probably used to hold sherry.
A 1977 vintage whisky from Benriach, part of their 2011 Limited Release range, the 8th that they've done. Distilled the year before the distiller was taken over by Seagrams and matured for 34 years, including a period of time finishing in a Pedro Ximinez sherry cask. The finish has added a nice bit of a sherry edge, but without overpowering the flavours from the initial maturation to give a great fruit and nut combination.
One of only a tiny handful of official bottlings from the distillery also known as North Port (the others being part of the Rare Malt series). Brechin was demolished more than a decade ago, so this is a real collector's item.
A 20 year old whisky from Dallas Dhu, now closed and turned into a museum of distilling (worth a visit if you're ever near Elgin). This whisky was distilled in 1977 and bottled at the end of the 20th century for the First Cask range.
