One of the oldest vintage cognacs available anywhere, this was distilled a full five decades before the phylloxera outbreak (there's a sticker on the back of the bottle with the vintage)and was bottled around the turn of the 20th century. This bottle came from the cellar of a former French president's family chateau.
A Cognac specially designed to be an accompaniment to a cigar, put together by A E Dor. It's a blend that includes Petite and Grande Champagne cognacs as well as a number of spirits that have been aged in new oak casks - this gives an extra woodiness that helps the Cognac stand up to a cigar's flavours.
A rare cognac, limited to the contents of a few large glass demijohns discovered by A E Dor in a small cellar of a property in Grande Champagnes. Number 10 was matured in casks until it reached 41.5% abv and was then transferred into the demijohns, where it has sat since 1965. A very limited release.
Number 11 is one of the pinnacles of A E Dor's Vieilles Reserve range. It was blended by the late Odile Rivière, the former blending manager, from only Grande Champagne cognac aged for a minumum of 70 years, with some eau-de-vie being even older. A non-fussy but very high quality Cognac.
A rich and leathery entry in A E Dor's Vieilles Reserve range. "An ardent, masculine nose. A powerful attach in the mouth, which can be surprising", say their tasting notes.
