A 16yo bottling from the An Cnoc distillery (formerly known as Knockdhu), bottled at a healthy 46% abv. We think this is one of the most under-rated malts out there - a bargain. Web-Exclusive Price!
Ancient Ancient Age is really good value: premium bourbon at a very reasonable price. Remarkable complexity for the money and a long, mellow finish make this a winner.
Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Port Barrels
An interesting bourbon with a unique twist - after the initial maturation it takes a leaf out of Scotch Whisky's book abnd spends between 3 and 6 months finishing in port barrels. The more experimentation the better, we reckon, especially when it turns out something like this - marrying the sweet caramel and grain of bourbon with the rich sticky wine flavours of a port cask.
An 18 year old Ardbeg bottled by Murray McDavid (the folks behind nearby Bruichladdich) in 2011 after selection by their master distiller, Jim McEwan. Bourbon cask matured and distilled in 1993. MAXIMUM 1 PER CUSTOMER.
A 1994 vintage from Ardbeg bottled as part of Murray McDavid's Mission series, collecting together some of the rarer and more interesting casks that they have hiding in their warehouse. This was matured for 17 years in a bourbon cask before bottling in 2011 at Bruichladdich. MAXIMUM 1 PER CUSTOMER.
Ardmore are best known for their use of peat, despite being in the relatively peat free region of Speyside, and this whisky is no exception. It's an independent cask strength bottling by Gordon & Macphail and comes in at a fairly hefty 57.9% abv.
A young Arran from the 2005 vintage, this single cask bourbon-matured malt is unusual for Arran in that it's been peated. Young, peaty whisky? Pah! It'll never work (joke). Bottled at cask strength in the distillery's smart packaging, we expect this one to fly.
