A kind of posh 'premix' Whisky Mac cocktail made by adding the under-rated (and now little seen) Glen Moray single malt to the famous and fabulous Crabbie's green ginger wine.
Sweet, full and exceptionally well-rounded. The flavour is initially of toffee, progressing to mint humbugs and barley sugar and followed by a hint of smoke and peat flavours.
One of a pair of 25yo sherry casks of Glen Moray 1959 released by Italian maestros Samaroli in 1984. This is from a single sherry butt that yielded just 240 bottles. Extraordinary colour for a 46% whisky.
A refill hoggie of Glen Moray, formerly owned by Glenmorangie, of course, and now missing in action after being snapped up by La Martiniquaise, owners of the up-and-coming Label 5 blend.
A rather smart, but simply-presented 1964 vintage Glen Moray bottled at 27 years of age in the early 1990s when the distillery was still using the Glenlivet suffix.
