A truly historic brand of blended Scotch whisky. John Haig set up the Kilbagie distillery in the 18th century, although his family were noted distillers some time before that (his great-great-grandfather was busted in 1655 for distilling on the Sabbath). His grandson (also called John) founded the Cameronbridge grain distillery in 1824, while later noted members of the Haig clan include WWI Field Marshal Douglas Haig, so magnificently lampooned by St. Stephen Fry in Blackadder Goes Forth.
A very old bottle of the famous Haig Gold Label with a springcap seal. The label says this is by appointment to King George V, which places this sometime in the early 1930s.
A lovely springcapped bottle of Haig in the classic dimpled bottle with the gold wire. This bottle's royal warrant is for 'The Late King George VI', which puts it around the mid-1950s.
