The latest Brora 30yo is a very welcome return to form. Big and brooding, with a firm peppery, tweedy character and hints of coffee and dark chocolate.

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by TWE

Nose: initially sweet, with condensed milk and tinned pears, becoming phenolic, with a hint of exhaust fumes, before becoming sweet again.

Palate: big and peppery, with chocolate, coffee and elegant old oak.

    Finish: long, warming and smoky.

A superb old whisky, just as it should be. Tasting note here: http://www.whiskywhiskywhisky.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=47

I am not a Brora's big fan so I am not amazed that it had worse moments, from which it - from time to time - 'returns to form'.
