Introduced by Irish Distillers in 2011 as part of the relaunched range of pot still whiskies, The Barry Crockett Legacy is named for the Midleton master distiller and combines bourbon cask matured whisky with some from a new American oak barrel. A great entry into the Midleton line-up which has been showered with awards since it first appeared on the horizon.

Midleton Barry Crockett Legacy Reviews

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by Stuart P

Nose: Soft, sweet aromas of honey and vanilla, followed by rich spiciness with dried fruit and cinnamon.

Palate: Pleasing dryness on the palate, with bold oakiness and an almost rye-like spiciness. Complex and balanced.

Finish: Long lasting, with the oak and the spice taking hold.

Grab it while you can. They can''t keep producing this at that price. Great value. It''s a well balanced, spicy pot still that will not disappointed. The packaging isn''t shabby either.

    Simply the Best whisky ever

A profound disappointment. Raw, harsh, rough, and out of focus. Tasted side by side with the Midleton Very Rare 2012, the Redbreast 15 and Redbreast 21, and the Powers John's Lane. Consistent opinions among all 6 tasters- the Crockett was not what we expected. Very poor value, certainly not a marquis bottling. Purchased at The Loop in Dublin Airport.

No doubt one of the best you'll ever drink. I've recently be lucky to taste some unbelievable and iconic Irish whiskey and the Barry Crockett Legacy is everything they say it is and more. A genuine treat you'll be glad you tasted.

Very very nice whiskey but I prefer the 16 year old Bushmills. Tony Brazao

Really delicate nuances makes this an exceptional Irish whiskey. Lives upto the Irish claim that they invented whiskey and the scots stole the lead with English help.... Genuine pleasure to drink.

I'm a big Redbreast & Green Spot fan. Out of the 2 new single pot still released this year, i prefer this one although John's Lane is more affordable. This is one to savour. A fantastic whiskey. Great that Midleton have released a single pot still in the Midleton expression. I hope they release more single pot stills.

A close call between this and the Powers John's Lane. I think I slightly prefer this one. Both are brilliant.
