Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by CLASS Magazine

    Clear, pale straw yellow.

New make spirit and freshly baked doughy wholemeal bread with faint vanilla and cinnamon spice.

Linseed oil, new make, creamy barley, nubuck leather and light cinnamon, nutmeg and pepper spice.

Medium length with creamy barley, dough bread and light nutmeg. Perhaps more reminiscent of a new American rather than Scottish whisky. Light, new leather and morish.

    Diffordsguide rating - 4/5

I tried this from a miniature. The nose is of bread and new make. The taste generally follows the nose. The whisky is smooth and relatively uncomplicated. The finish, then, was a bit of a surprise. A variety of fruit flavors slipped up under the bready malt. The finish is quite long and decidedly pleasant.
