Old Smuggler is a long running blended whisky, first bottled back in 1835. Named in honour of the whisky smugglers who traded around the Scottish islands back in those days it's still popular today, especially in Argentina and Belgium(!)

As per the price its a good buy. Quality wise its a light whisky, very young whisky. The first thing you notice while giving it a nose is the alcohol however give it 5 minutes to settle and you start to get its real character. Taste wise its smooth though it''s a young whisky, the finish is very short. In short good value for money and not to expect too much from it.

Discovered this at the Scotch Whisky Experience, where i learned a lot, Prefer Highland Whiskeys, This Whisky is the best whisky i have ever tasted, I have 2 glasses as a night cap every night. it smells good, its tastes good, and its a great delight. For the price, its the best blended ever!

Excellent: the only thing wrong with this whisky is it is priced so low that people think it must be rotgut. Not so-best bargain by far in blended scotches. If you drink a lot of scotch, drink this.

Excellent blended whisky, in a blind taste test both my father and fiance placed it 3rd favourite behind Johnnie Walker Blue Label and Platinum label. At a fraction of the cost of those it''s a must have on the whisky shelf!

Owner of this brand should take a greater care of this little fellow. Pitty to see the owner's decline in having interest in its own product. Though now I am a rather single malt drinker this is The Old Smuggler which introduced me into the world of whiskies hence my bit of nostalgy:)
