The first product from The London Distillery Company, which was founded with the aim of becoming the capital's first whisky distillery in over 100 years. It's named for Ralph Dodd, an entrepreneur in the early 19th century who founded a similarly named but ill-fated distillery, and was first produced in early 2013 using a mixture of pot and vacuum distilled spirits.

Tasting Notes for CLASS Magazine
Appearance: Crystal clear.
Aroma: Nutty, rooty pine and balsawood with black tea leaves and cardamom spice. A splash of water releases fresh green leafy aromas.
Taste: At smidgen under 50% this gin packs a flavoursome punch. As with the nose, the addition of water amplifies green flavours which combine well with piney juniper, subtle black tea and enlivening cardamom.
Aftertaste: Green leafy notes linger with white tea, pine and mixed peppery spice. Both strength of flavour and alcoholic strength make this a G&T rather than a cocktail gin.
This small batch gin, created by Head Distiller Andrew MacLeod Smith and Founder Darren Rook, uses organic botanicals which include: juniper, angelica, fresh lime peel, bay laurel, cardamom, red raspberry leaf and London honey.
We distil the lion's share of our organic ingredients in 'Christina', a traditional 140-litre copper alembic, but reserve the more delicate botanicals for our state-of-the-art cold vacuum still, 'Little Albion'. The two spirits are then married for several weeks before being bottled and labelled by hand.
