50 Year Old Cask 9783 Douglas Laing
- Single Grain Scotch Whisky
- Douglas Laing
A great old whisky from Douglas Laing, bottled for the Directors' Cut series. Distilled in 1962 at North British distillery in Edinburgh and aged for a colossal 50 years in a refill butt. It's picked up lots of colour and has kept its strength, leading to an intensely flavoured and impressive dram.
North British 1962 Reviews
Nose: Massively spiced - still very lively - fructiferously sweet & hinting at oak.
Palate: Tremendously vanilla'd - ultra sweet - full of fruit cake and apricot jam.
Finish: Softer now - yet warmingly spiced/gently toffee'd - typically short - but still great.
