- Scotch Malt Whisky Society
The 9th cask that The Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottled from Glen Grant. This was distilled in 1981, just a few years into the previous ownership of Seagram's. Today around half of the production is used as the base for the Chivas range of blends. Strong as a Fisherman's Friend is the official SWMS description.

Producer's NotesDistilled at Rothes, by the Glen Grant burn, from which the distillery takes its name. The spirit is pale as straw, the result of maturation in a refilled hogshead. It is in the taste that there is a great surprise, for this is one of the few exceptions to the rule that nose is the condition of quality. In the mouth, there is an explosion of sweetness: light but full-bodied. In the end it is as strong as a fisherman's Friend.
