A rich, dark and dry beer from Harviestoun, used as the base for their range of whisky cask matured bottlings and a tasty beer in it's own right. A heavy porter, named for its appearance and distillery founder Ken Brooker's previous life as an engineer at Ford, it's a great winter drink.

Harviestoun Old Engine Oil Beer Reviews
Producer's NotesOld Engine Oil is a remarkably smooth, creamy brew with a beautiful velvety mouthfeel. Enjoy flavours of coffee, slightly buttered toffee, dark chocolate and earthy hops. You may find some mild cherry fruit within the residual sweetness, neatly accompanying the roasted flavours that ride with you all the way to the finish.
Tasting Notes by Billy A
Nose: Meaty with huge amounts of very savoury, dark roasted barley and a light astringency.
Palate: It starts out very bitter, with freshly crushed chocolate malt and a charcoal edge, although the body of the beer is relatively light in weight and almost mild-like.
Finish: Bitter grains and a hint of charcoal.
