Tasting Notes by Billy A
Nose: Thick caramel, dusty milk chocolate, real maraschino cherries and a touch of darker oily notes.
Palate: Spiced, stewed apple, with ginger and cinnamon. Turkish delight covered in dark chocolate, candied lemon and dark fruit cake. Water smooths out any bumps, revealing tropical fruit and delicate citrus notes.
Finish: Dark chocolate, bitter lemon pith, soft apples and gentle spice.
Comment: This has spent more than a year finishing in sherry casks and you can tell. It combines the orchard fruit and gentle richness of traditional boubon-cask-matured Balblair with something a bit heavier, creating an excellent dram.

Has a nose to die for, lots of fruit layers and sherry complexity. The neat palate is a little hot and spicy but thankfully it takes plenty of water.
Not my usual fare, tend to stick with peaty islays. Think I''ve found my new favourite!
So smooth. Dont usually go for this finish but this is cracking.
