18 Year Old Old Malt Cask
- Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
- Hunter Laing
A Hunter Laing, Old Malt Cask bottling of 1996 vintage whisky from Deanston in the southern Highlands. Distilled in April and bottled almost exactly 18 years in April 2014, this whisky is packed with much darker flavours than its light colour suggests, thanks to its maturation in a refill sherry butt.

Tasting notes by Billy A
Nose: Toffee and golden sugar up front, with raisin studded tarte tatin (made with sharp Granny Smith apples), buttered toast and lemon rind. The citrus gives way to darker, sweeter flavours, with toffee and sweetened butter developing.
Palate: Soft and fruity, with apples, pears, Refresher chews, Rhubarb and Custard boiled sweets and raisins, turning towards apple skin and slightly drying, dark woody notes. Woody spice develops, along with soft, polished oak.
Finish: Gentle, with fresh cut oak, apple and digestive biscuits.
Nose: Sweet and mellow. Marinated rich fruits, prunes and vanilla.
Palate: Smooth and creamy custard, Christmas pudding, dark fruits.
Finish: Long, sweet and fruity with a hint of sherry wood.
